I came upon a Fairy Village set up at Zilker Botanical Garden. It was a most magical walk. I created this from one of the images I snapped while taking in the little village.

Purple Hat Lady

Oil on paper. When I first started I didnt know you shouldn't use oil paint of paper. I was just excited to try my new "toys". I had been intimidated by oils, until my mom sent me set that she bought at a garage sale. I feel in love with this new medium.

Liz-No Smoking

I created a series of No Smoking signs in response to the NYC no smoking ordinance that passes in the early 2000's . Back then no one was following it. It was highly ridiculed and since I often saw people ignoring the new law, I decided to commemorate those times with art.

I'm Still Standing

When life knocks me down, I make art. It helps me get back up and this was my response to the tough years of selling art on the streets of NYC. The woman that purchased it , did so as a gift for a friend who had tried to commit suicide. The message of I'm Still Standing resonated with her, so she got it for her friend, to give her strength. Beaded paper and acrylic collage on wooden kitchen cabinet doors.

Mean People Suck
